What kind of laptop are you getting for just $75? It can do everything a regular laptop can do and more: it has three times the wireless range, a sunlight-readable screen, a battery that lasts for 20 to 30 hours. And you can drop it. If you can offer all that at such a low price, why are other laptops still so expensive? It’s possible to halve the price of a laptop every 18 months, but the computing industry has instead doubled the computing power and kept the price about the same....

For those who feel that virtual reality is too expensive, there was good news at the Oculus Connect 3 event which took place earlier this week. During the event’s keynote, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg (Facebook purchased Oculus VR in 2014) revealed that the company behind Oculus Rift is working on a new wireless virtual reality headset. While Zuckerberg didn’t reveal any details on specs or its design, the Facebook executive did confirm that the headset is meant to be a mid-level, more affordable option that exists between (budget headset) Gear VR and the pricier Rift....

The next morning, Russian Defense Minister Igor Sergeyev vehemently denied the stories, calling them “lies and misinformation.” He scoffed at the idea that Russian tanks had entered Grozny at all. Other government officials–including Prime Minister Vladimir Putin–quickly joined in the chorus of denial. And the state-run television networks ORT and RTR promptly passed along their side of the story to the Russian public. Indeed, the only Russian news outlet to confirm the massacre was the AVN military news agency, which quoted a source confirming that 50 soldiers had died in the clash....

But Lakers role player Jordan Farmar decided to take a chance before his team faced off with the Miami Heat. His outfit landed more in the Craig Sager realm than anyhing Wade or Westbrook has worn. Rocking a yellow tie and yellow-colored floral blazer, Farmar, an understated but solid player, stepped way out of the box of role player with this number. In fact, Farmar, who will start at point guard, might have been the brightest Laker prior to their Christmas Day game....

Hornets co-owner Felix Sabates, however, is not one of those people. Sabates, who helped found the Hornets in 1987, blasted Silver, the NBA and even the Charlotte City Council for the “short sighted move” (sic). Although the copy of Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration is housed inside of a PS1-era case, the actual disc itself seems to be for the PlayStation 4. So, it’s safe to say that we won’t be seeing any kind of mock-up production from Sony when it comes to actually manufacturing a replica PS1 disc for Rise of the Tomb Raider. Of course, considering the fact that Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration includes some retro and polygon-styled skins for Lara Croft — as seen in the game’s launch trailer — developers definitely missed an opportunity to create actual PS1-era packaging for those who pre-ordered the title....

The cubs were picked up by rangers from the Sabuli Wildlife Conservancy, a community-led organization in Wajir County, in the country’s northeast. Sharmake Mohamed, the conservancy’s chairman, told Newsweek it was not normal for cheetahs to abandon their cubs. “We’ve just had a very bad drought and the mother cheetah killed a goat from a nearby settlement,” he said. “The villagers found the cheetah eating the goat and chased it away....

The Blues hope that the 23-year-old will be part of a double deal with Roma, as Goal reported on Monday that Chelsea are also aiming to secure striker Edin Dzeko this week . The deal could be worth a joint fee of around £50 million, which is inclusive of performance-related add-ons. Emerson’s agents began talks with Chelsea last week, but the deal made significant progress over the weekend as Antonio Conte’s side won 4-0 at Brighton & Hove Albion....

“I am very happy to have signed a new contract with Chelsea. We worked extremely hard in our first year to achieve something amazing, which I am very proud of. Now we must work even harder to stay at the top,” 47-year-old Italian Conte said. The deal does not extend his commitment to the club because he signed a three-year contract when he joined in 2016. Conte led Chelsea to the league title at his first attempt last season and they also reached the FA Cup final which they lost to London rivals Arsenal....

In case you didn’t know… Chelsea legend Lampard started his managerial career by taking charge of Derby County last summer. Although he helped Derby to reach the Championship playoff final last season, he couldn’t guide the club back to the Premier League as the Rams lost to Aston Villa. At Derby, he has managed Fikayo Tomori and Mason Mount, who were loaned from Chelsea last season. It is believed that Maurizio is close to leaving Chelsea for Juventus, and Lampard has been tipped as one of the managers to replace the Italian at Stamford Bridge....

Courtois is considering a return to Spain where his young family lives and, in a bid to keep the 25-year-old - who has 18 months left on his current deal - away from Real Madrid, the Blues have offered huge new terms. The goalkeeper established his family in the Spanish capital during his three years on loan at Atletico Madrid and he has previously admitted that he could return. In a bid to stop that, the Stamford Bridge outfit are ready to make Courtois the joint best-paid keeper in the world, along with Manchester United’s David de Gea....
