Persistence pays : The most important lesson that any team in the world can learn from Chelsea‘s campaigns is that of persistence. The team bankrolled by Roman Abramovich set out to win the trophy back in 2003. There were times when they were just on the verge of winning the trophy but they did not. But the team continued with their pursuit under the leadership of various managers or dare I say, Roman Abramovich. At last they won it under the manager who was not even sure whether he will be the manager come next season. As it goes in life also, persistence pays guys.
Expect the unexpected: As I mentioned before, Chelsea won the trophy when absolutely nobody expected them to win it . There were years when they were among the favorites to win the trophy but somehow they always managed to squander all the advantage. Then came a year when they were almost down and out. Lying outside of Champions League spot in the league and on the verge of extinction from the current Champions League campaign (remember 1-3 down against Napoli). Then suddenly, a sort of miracle happened under the leadership of a certain Robeto di Matteo and here they are as the champions of Europe. As it goes in life also, expect the unexpected guys.
When everything goes wrong, just pray: How much true these lines are, otherwise how in the world can Lionel Messi and Arjen Robben both miss their penalties consecutively against an ultra defensive Chelsea side? To make the case more compelling, how the hell can Drogba score from virtually the first proper chance in the dying moments of the game? Even in penalties it was Chelsea who were first trailing but ultimately emerged victorious. Then again as it goes in life, pray when everything goes wrong.
So it will be interesting to see how the teams will be fairing in this new season. Will we see what we had seen the last season or once again it will be the year when a much fancied team like Barca will run away with the honor. Fingers crossed..
