This Fire/Poison-type is a rather ferocious combatant that’s capable of seriously messing up a team of even the most well-assembled Pocket Monsters. This is primarily because Salandit has aptly been labelled the “Toxic Lizard Pokemon,” which makes a whole heck of a lot more sense when learning a little bit more about the background of the Pokemon – namely that it can poison both Steel and Poison-types.
According to the official Pokemon website, this power comes courtesy of its newfound ability called ‘Corrosion’, which will be making its first-ever appearance in the franchise with Salandit. Here’s the scoop on the official description of the ability:

While the creature seems like a cool strategic option for trainers, it counteracts its various abilities (including the alleged ability of female Salandits to lure in all male Pokemon) by being a bit on the weaker side. In that sense, this seems like it has all the making to be a solid support monster for professional players – although it’ll ultimately come down to its final stats. This is based solely on the beast’s description on the official Pokemon website, however, so it remains to be seen just how impactful the Pokemon ends up being when the latest games finally arrive.
Salandit is just the latest in a string of Pokemon reveals, with the latest batch of brand new Pokemon Sun and Moon monsters also changing things up rather substantially.
